What This Bill Does

relating to the posting of certain election declarations on the

relating to the posting of certain election declarations on the
Internet website of the governmental entity holding the election.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Section 2.053, Election Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
(f)  If a declaration is made under Subsection (a), the
political subdivision shall post the declaration on its Internet
website until the 30th day after the date the unopposed candidate is
SECTION 2.  Section 2.081(b), Election Code, is amended to
(b)  If a measure is declared moot under this section and is
removed from the ballot, the authority holding the election shall
post notice of the declaration:
(1)  during early voting by personal appearance and on
election day, at each polling place that would have been used for
the election on the measure; and
(2)  on the authority's Internet website until the 30th
day after the date of the election.
SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
