relating to nursing rooms provided by public employers. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 619.004, Government Code, is amended to Sec. 619.004. PUBLIC EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITIES. (a) A (1) [provide] a reasonable amount of break time for an employee to express breast milk each time the employee has need to (2) [provide] a place to serve as a nursing room, other than a multiple user bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from other employees and the public where the employee can express breast milk; and (3) a sign-in sheet for the use of the nursing room that is managed by a designated employee. (b) A public employer shall ensure that the nursing room and the sign-in sheet for the use of the nursing room are available only to employees who express breast milk. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
