relating to the use of funds awarded by the Cancer Prevention and BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 102.203, Health and Safety Code, is amended by adding Subsection (f) to read as follows: (f) Money awarded under this subchapter may not be used for embryonic or fetal stem cell research. This subsection does not prohibit using money awarded under this subchapter for research using adult stem cells or stem cells obtained from an umbilical SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
