What This Bill Does
Allows the Texas Water Development Board to provide financial assistance for water supply and sewer service projects in communities developed before certain model water rules were adopted, even if those specific model rules are not currently enforced in the project area. This expansion gives more flexibility to local governments and water districts seeking funding for infrastructure improvements in older or previously underserved communities. The legislation aims to support water and sewer infrastructure development in areas that might have been previously ineligible for financial assistance.
