relating to detection and prevention of fraud, waste, and abuse in all Texas Workforce Commission programs. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. The heading to Texas Labor Code, Chapter 301, Subchapter K, is amended to read as follows: SUBCHAPTER K. PREVENTION, DETECTION AND, INVESTIGATION PREVENTION OF CHILD CARE FRAUD, WASTE AND ABUSE; SPECIAL PROVISIONS SECTION 2. Chapter 301, Subchapter K, Labor Code, is amended by adding Section 301.190 to read as follows: Sec. 301.190. PREVENTION, DETECTION AND INVESTIGATION OF FRAUD, WASTE, AND ABUSE IN COMMISSION PROGRAMS. (a) The commission shall develop procedures to prevent, detect, and investigate, fraud, waste, and abuse in all programs administered by the commission, or its subrecipients, and any contractors of either. Additionally, the commission shall develop: (1) systems to detect fraud, waste, and abuse in the administration, provision, and delivery of all programs and (2) a method to report fraud, waste, and abuse on the commission's public Internet site; and (3) a method for the commission's subrecipients, and the contractors of the commission and its subrecipients, to report fraud, waste, and abuse related to the programs they administer on (b) The commission may obtain any information or technology necessary to enable it to meet its responsibilities under this subchapter or other law, including as provided by Subchapter E. Section 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
