relating to designating April 16 as Selena Quintanilla Pérez Day. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 662, Government Code, is amended by adding Section 662.086 to read as follows: Sec. 662.086. SELENA QUINTANILLA PÉREZ DAY. (a) April 16 is Selena Quintanilla Pérez Day in memory of the contributions to Tejano music of Selena Quintanilla Pérez, an award-winning singer (b) Selena Quintanilla Pérez Day may be regularly observed by appropriate ceremonies and activities. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
