What This Bill Does

Allows the North Texas Groundwater district to consider aesthetic landscape uses (such as filling ponds or lakes) when reviewing water well permits and permit amendments. This means property owners seeking water permits may have an additional factor considered during the approval process that takes into account aesthetic landscaping needs. The legislation provides additional discretion to the groundwater district when evaluating water use permit applications.
