What This Bill Does

Requires Texas school districts to create a user-friendly, searchable online portal that provides real-time public access to critical district documents, including contracts, investment policies, board meeting minutes, and financial reports. The portal must be updated within 30 days of document creation or modification, with the goal of increasing transparency, reducing public information request costs, and making district information easily accessible to citizens. All school districts will need to develop and maintain this interactive digital platform that allows people to search documents by keywords, date ranges, and other specified criteria.
