What This Bill Does

Repeals existing legal restrictions on wheelbase and horsepower for the state's passenger vehicle fleet, effectively giving Texas government agencies more flexibility in purchasing and maintaining their vehicle inventory. By removing these specific technical limitations, state departments will have broader options when selecting and acquiring vehicles for official use. The changes will take effect on September 1, 2025, allowing state agencies time to adjust their vehicle procurement strategies.
