What This Bill Does
Updates requirements for property tax arbitrators seeking to renew their agreement with the Texas Comptroller. To renew, arbitrators must complete 8 hours of continuing education in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution from approved sources like universities, real estate associations, or legal education courses, and complete a revised training program on property tax law within 120 days of its availability. These requirements ensure arbitrators remain current in their knowledge and skills for handling property tax appeals through binding arbitration.
