What This Bill Does
Establishes the Texas Prekindergarten Fund to support and expand high-quality early childhood education across the state. The fund will provide financial assistance to school districts and charter schools, prioritizing those serving low-income, rural, and underserved communities, with money allocated based on factors like the percentage of educationally disadvantaged students and program performance. Funds can be used to expand prekindergarten access, support teacher professional development, enhance facilities, and improve instructional resources, with an annual report submitted to track the fund's impact on student performance.
