What This Bill Does

Allows members of the State Board of Education who are not currently eligible for state health benefits to apply and participate in the state employees group health benefit plan, but they must pay the full premium without receiving any state contribution. The change provides an optional health insurance option for Board of Education members who previously did not qualify for the state health plan, enabling them to purchase coverage through the state's group plan at their own expense.
