What This Bill Does

Requires municipalities and counties to prohibit the installation of wind and solar power facilities within 500 yards of neighboring property lines, unless written consent is obtained from adjacent property owners. The regulation applies specifically to wholesale energy facilities, with measurement taken from the nearest point of the facility's structure to the property line. Municipalities and counties must adopt this prohibition by October 1, 2025, though existing wind and solar facilities will not be required to be removed.
