What This Bill Does

Modifies Texas public information law regarding law enforcement records, allowing greater access to certain information under specific conditions. If a person depicted in a record (other than a peace officer) is no longer alive or is willing to consent, the previous exceptions blocking disclosure would not apply. The changes will take effect for information requests received on or after September 1, 2025, potentially increasing transparency in public records related to law enforcement documents.
