What This Bill Does
This Texas bill makes provisions in construction contracts void if they require disputes to be resolved under another state's law, litigation, or arbitration outside of Texas. Specifically, any contract clause attempting to move legal proceedings out of Texas or apply another state's laws is now considered invalid and against public policy. For construction-related disputes, legal actions must be brought in the Texas county where the property in question is located, ensuring that such legal matters are handled within the state's jurisdiction.
