What This Bill Does
Modifies election procedures for independent school district trustees, primarily standardizing election dates and term lengths. School districts will now be required to align their elections with general state and county elections, with trustees serving either three- or four-year terms and elections held annually or biennially. The changes aim to create more consistent and predictable election schedules, with specific provisions for districts in certain population ranges, and mandates that school districts change their election dates by December 31, 2025, to match general election dates.
