What This Bill Does
Modifies how child abuse and neglect reports are shared between the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and county or district attorneys. It allows district attorneys to request immediate notification of suspected child abuse or neglect reports within their jurisdiction and receive full investigation details, including confidential information. The bill restricts attorneys from publicly releasing these sensitive records, limiting their use to specific criminal procedure purposes.
