What This Bill Does

Eliminates financial barriers for educators seeking bilingual education certification by requiring the state board to waive its examination fees and pay the vendor's administration fee for each person taking the bilingual education certificate examination. The legislation aims to support and incentivize teachers who want to obtain bilingual teaching credentials, potentially increasing the number of bilingual educators in Texas schools. The act will take effect on September 1, 2025, providing a clear timeline for implementation.
