What This Bill Does

Prevents the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission and Department from establishing or maintaining chronic wasting disease containment or surveillance zones that regulate the activities of license or permit holders based on disease detection or potential presence. The legislation effectively eliminates geographic restrictions and regulatory controls for areas where chronic wasting disease might be found, removing potential limitations on hunting, wildlife management, and related activities for permit holders across affected regions.
