What This Bill Does

The Texas Education Agency will be required to prepare a comprehensive report detailing all public education mandates in the state, including their legal authorization, funding status, potential costs, and any duplications or conflicts. The agency must solicit input from school districts and stakeholders, and will be required to submit the report by December 1, 2026 to state leadership and make it publicly available electronically. This report aims to provide transparency and potentially identify opportunities for streamlining or revising educational requirements that impact school districts financially.
