What This Bill Does

Establishes new procedures for emergency services districts located in counties with populations over three million to adopt and amend their annual budgets. The legislation requires districts to post proposed budgets on their websites at least 72 hours before adoption meetings, hold open meetings for budget consideration, and allow public comments before making budget amendments. Budget amendments can only be approved if three or more board members vote in favor after receiving public input, ensuring greater transparency and public participation in district financial decisions.
