What This Bill Does

Allows certain special districts, such as water districts, to use their operation and maintenance tax funds to hire or contract with peace officers for security and law enforcement services. The amendment expands how these districts can allocate their tax revenues, specifically permitting them to use funds to pay for peace officer services in addition to existing operational expenses. This change provides special districts with more flexibility in managing their budgets and addressing local safety needs.
