What This Bill Does

Lowers the population threshold for counties to construct, enlarge, equip, and operate parking lots or parking garages near their county courthouse from 150,000 to 40,000 residents. The change will allow smaller counties more flexibility in developing parking infrastructure around their local government buildings. This could help counties with growing populations improve parking accessibility and infrastructure near their courthouses without needing to meet a higher population requirement.
