What This Bill Does

Creates an exemption for school districts located on federal military installations from the requirement to have an armed security officer present. Specifically, these school districts will not be mandated to have armed security personnel on campus, unlike other school districts in Texas. relating to an exception for certain school districts to the
requirement that an armed security officer be present at a public
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Section 37.0814, Education Code, is amended by
adding Subsection (f) to read as follows:
(f)  This section does not apply to a school district located
on a federal military installation.
SECTION 2.  This Act applies beginning with the 2025-2026
SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution.  If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
