What This Bill Does

Modifies requirements for bilingual education teaching certificates in Texas by creating bifurcated supplemental certifications specifically for teachers instructing students in grades K-6 and 7-12. These new certificates will allow educators who do not initially pass the Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test to retake only the sections they failed and potentially demonstrate language proficiency through fewer test components. The changes aim to make bilingual education certification more accessible while maintaining quality instruction standards.
