What This Bill Does

Requires solid waste processing facilities that handle municipal sludge, sewage, septage, grease trap waste, or grit trap waste to obtain consent and authorization from the owners of the wastewater collection system and wastewater treatment facility that will receive and further treat their processed wastewater. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality will not issue, renew, or amend permits for these facilities unless the owner can demonstrate they have obtained the necessary authorizations, affecting waste processing businesses and municipal water management systems.
