BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1.  Subchapter E, Chapter 1551, Insurance Code, is
amended by adding Section 1551.2255 to read as follows:
Sec. 1551.2255.  COVERAGE OF MEDICALLY NECESSARY HEALTH CARE
AND TREATMENT.  (a)  The board of trustees shall develop a plan for
providing coverage under the group benefits program of any health
care or treatment deemed medically necessary by a participant's
treating physician or health care provider.
(b)  The board of trustees may adopt rules as necessary to
SECTION 2.  The changes in law made by this Act apply only to
a plan year that commences on or after January 1, 2026.
SECTION 3.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
