What This Bill Does

Allows rural prosecutor's offices that receive state grants to use the funds specifically for two purposes: increasing salaries of assistant attorneys, investigators, paralegals, and victim assistance coordinators, or hiring additional staff. The legislation aims to support staffing and compensation in rural prosecutor's offices by providing targeted financial assistance. The act will take effect on September 1, 2025, giving rural counties a new tool to attract and retain qualified legal professionals.
