What This Bill Does

This Texas bill requires the Department of State Health and the Higher Education Coordinating Board to develop a comprehensive state plan for preventing and treating human papillomavirus (HPV) among college students. The plan must include targeted strategies for demographic groups most affected by HPV, with a focus on education, awareness, and community outreach through public health activities and online resources. The agencies will jointly develop an education program that includes publishing HPV prevention information, conducting awareness campaigns, and potentially studying the infection's current and future impact on the state.
