What This Bill Does
Requires the Texas Department of Public Safety to add a sex offender designation to the driver's license or personal identification card of individuals subject to sex offender registration following a court order. The designation will apply to new or renewed licenses issued on or after September 1, 2025, visibly marking that the person is required to register as a sex offender. This change aims to provide public awareness by making a person's sex offender registration status immediately identifiable on their official state identification.
