What This Bill Does

Requires certain taxing units to publish a summary of their ad valorem tax information in local newspapers by August 7, including the URL where detailed information can be found online. The requirement applies to taxing units in counties with fewer than one million residents and where a newspaper of general circulation is published, helping ensure taxpayers have accessible information about local tax rates and assessments. The new rule takes effect January 1, 2026, and will apply to ad valorem tax years beginning on or after that date.
