What This Bill Does

This Texas bill establishes comprehensive safety standards for private passenger van services transporting students to and from school. The legislation requires van service operators to register with the state, maintain commercial insurance, complete an annual two-hour transportation safety training course, and meet specific safety requirements set by the Department of Public Safety. School districts must obtain signed parent authorization before releasing students to these van services, ensuring transparency and parental consent for student transportation.
