What This Bill Does

This Texas bill establishes a permit system for the sale of raw (unpasteurized) milk and milk products directly to consumers and cooperative associations. Permit holders must label their products with specific information, including a warning about foodborne illness risks, and raw milk coordinators can sell these products at locations like farmers' markets after registering with the state. The bill aims to regulate raw milk sales while providing more flexibility for producers and consumers, with implementation set for September 1, 2025.
