What This Bill Does
Creates a new pathway for certain education professionals like educational diagnosticians, occupational therapists, special education teachers, and speech language pathologists to become licensed specialists in school psychology. The Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council will develop a licensing process that identifies additional training and education requirements for these professionals to provide psychological services in school districts. The goal is to streamline and standardize the licensing process for qualified education professionals seeking to expand their roles in school-based psychological services.
