What This Bill Does

Expands the Homes for Texas Heroes home loan program to include social workers as eligible recipients for low-interest home mortgage loans. Social workers who meet program criteria, such as having an income not exceeding 115% of the area median family income, can now apply for these special home loans. The legislation aims to provide affordable housing opportunities for social workers by allowing them to access the same home financing benefits previously available to other public service professionals like firefighters, peace officers, and educators.
