What This Bill Does
Allows the Texas Secretary of State to withhold funds from county voter registrars who fail to timely complete specific voter registration-related duties, such as processing voter registration changes, scheduling required hearings, and delivering voter-related notices. If a registrar does not complete these duties within the mandated timeframe, they may lose funding, but can restore funding by performing the duty within 30 days of the initial deadline. The bill aims to ensure county voter registrars promptly and accurately manage voter registration processes.
