What This Bill Does

Requires that federal money received for public education can only be used for primary and secondary education purposes in Texas. If the state appropriates more money to school districts through the Foundation School Program than districts are legally entitled to receive, the commissioner must distribute the excess funds equally per student to each school district. The bill ensures transparent and equitable allocation of educational funding, benefiting school districts statewide by providing additional resources when excess funds are available.
