What This Bill Does
Creates a criminal offense for promoting or possessing child-like sex dolls, classifying such actions as a felony or Class A misdemeanor. Anyone who knowingly promotes or possesses these anatomically correct dolls intended for sexual stimulation can face criminal charges, with possession of six or more dolls presumed to be with intent to promote. Law enforcement officials are exempt from prosecution if the possession is for a legitimate law enforcement purpose.

relating to creating the criminal offense of promotion of a BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 43, Penal Code, is amended by adding Section 43.231 to read as follows: Sec. 43.231. PROMOTION OF CHILD-LIKE SEX DOLL. (a) In this section, "child-like sex doll" means an obscene, anatomically correct doll, mannequin, or robot that has the features of a child and that is intended to be used for sexual stimulation or (b) A person commits an offense if the person knowingly: (1) promotes a child-like sex doll; or (2) possesses, with the intent to promote, a (c) An offense under Subsection (b)(1) is a felony of the (d) An offense under Subsection (b)(2) is a Class A (e) A person who possesses six or more child-like sex dolls is presumed to possess the dolls with the intent to promote the (f) It is an affirmative defense to prosecution under this section that the person who possesses or promotes the child-like sex dolls does so for a bona fide law enforcement purpose. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
