relating to prioritization of requests for financial assistance from certain funds administered by the Texas Water Development BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Subchapter J, Chapter 15, Water Code, is amended by adding Section 15.6043 to read as follows: Sec. 15.6043. PRIORITY FOR CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES. In providing financial assistance from any revolving fund established under this subchapter, the board shall, to the extent permissible under federal law, give priority to a request for financial assistance from a municipality located not more than 50 miles from SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only to an application for financial assistance submitted to the Texas Water Development Board on or after the effective date of this Act. An application submitted before the effective date of this Act is governed by the law in effect immediately before the effective date of this Act, and the former law is continued in effect for that SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2025.
