What This Bill Does

Here's a concise summary of the bill: This Texas bill modifies procedures for mail-in ballot applications by establishing clear guidelines for voter registrars and volunteer deputy registrars regarding the distribution, collection, and submission of mail-in ballot applications. The bill requires these officials to maintain official application forms, personally deliver completed applications to the appropriate election official within specific timeframes, and establishes penalties for failing to properly submit applications, with potential misdemeanor charges for intentional non-compliance. The changes affect election workers, volunteer deputy registrars, and voters by creating more structured and time-sensitive processes for mail-in ballot application handling, ultimately aiming to improve the efficiency and accountability of mail-in voting procedures.
