What This Bill Does

This Texas bill aims to encourage earning industry-recognized credentials at higher education institutions by creating new incentives and a task force. The bill directs the state's higher education board to promote credentials in high-demand industries, support cross-institutional program development, and establish a task force to develop frameworks for students to earn multiple credentials alongside their degrees. By 2026, the task force must submit recommendations to improve how students can efficiently earn valuable workplace credentials while completing academic programs.
