What This Bill Does
Requires operators of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to provide proof of financial responsibility, similar to automobile insurance requirements. The legislation amends the Texas Transportation Code to mandate that ATV operators demonstrate they can cover potential damages or injuries, which likely means carrying liability insurance or proving financial capability to pay for accidents. The law will take effect on September 1, 2025, giving ATV owners and operators time to prepare and comply with the new requirement.
