What This Bill Does

This Texas bill invalidates contract provisions that require construction-related legal disputes involving Texas-based contractors, subcontractors, or material suppliers to be litigated outside of Texas. If such a venue provision is deemed void, any related legal action must be filed in the Texas county where the construction project is located or where the cause of action originated. The law applies only to contracts entered into on or after September 1, 2025, protecting local construction industry professionals from being forced to litigate in distant jurisdictions.
