What This Bill Does

This Texas bill modifies regulations for sunscreening devices (window tints) on motor vehicles. The legislation specifies detailed requirements for windshield and window tinting, including light transmission levels (at least 25%), reflectance limits (25% or less), and prohibiting red, blue, or amber tints. The bill provides numerous exemptions for specific vehicle types, window locations, and purposes, such as commercial vehicles, law enforcement vehicles, and vehicles with factory-installed tints, with the new regulations taking effect on September 1, 2025.
