What This Bill Does
Modifies civil service status for emergency medical services (EMS) personnel in municipalities with populations over 460,000 that operate under a city manager form of government and employ EMS workers outside the fire department. The legislation specifically changes how civil service rules apply to these municipal EMS employees, potentially impacting their employment classifications, job protections, and workplace regulations. The bill would take effect immediately with a two-thirds legislative vote, or on September 1, 2025, if that threshold is not met.
