What This Bill Does

This Texas bill regulates in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedures by requiring physicians to only perform IVF on individuals who intend to carry every embryo to term and prohibiting the termination of any embryos in a multifetal pregnancy. Healthcare providers who violate these rules can face administrative penalties from licensing authorities, potentially impacting fertility clinics and patients seeking IVF treatments. The law will take effect on September 1, 2025, giving medical providers time to adjust their practices to comply with the new restrictions.
