What This Bill Does

Here's a concise summary of the bill: This Texas bill establishes new requirements for private security personnel working in public schools by creating a specific "school security officer" license. School districts can now only hire licensed security personnel from contractors who meet specific training and qualification standards, including completing specialized school safety training courses and holding a base security officer commission. The bill mandates that individuals acting as school security officers must obtain a special license, complete required training through the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center, and maintain ongoing continuing education. This ensures a more standardized and professionally trained security presence in public primary and secondary schools.
