What This Bill Does

Increases salary step credit for career and technology education teachers from 2 to 5 years of prior work experience when determining their placement on the minimum salary schedule. The change allows these teachers to receive more salary recognition for their professional experience before entering the classroom. Teachers in career and technology fields will now be able to receive credit for up to 5 years of prior work experience, potentially increasing their starting salary and retirement service credit.
