What This Bill Does

Expands telepharmacy services in Texas by updating regulations for remote dispensing sites, particularly in rural and underserved areas. It allows provider pharmacies to operate up to two remote dispensing sites with specific requirements, such as on-site pharmacy technicians trained in telepharmacy systems, monthly controlled substance inventory reconciliation, and pharmacist supervision. The bill removes mileage restrictions, making it easier to establish telepharmacy locations in medically underserved regions, and aims to improve pharmaceutical access for rural communities.
